Are we really selling our house?

We have been restoring this house for the past six years or so.  It has been a wonderful journey to say the least.  Now that we are nearing completion of the restoration, we are looking at our options.  Times are tough for everyone.  The economy has hit pretty hard, especially on us middle class folks.  And, frankly speaking we are feeling the pinch pretty bad.  Since buying this house we also had two children.  Need I say more about how much that hits the budget?  Especially in terms of money and time.  No we are not victims of sub-prime lending or anything like that.  We simply can't comfortably afford to stay forever like I would have hoped.  I know how sad this all sounds, but it really isn't as bad as it seems.  I have gotten more out of this house than it got out of me, and I will take that feeling with me wherever we go.

It was a life long dream of mine to take on a truly distressed Victorian house and give it a whole new life.  It was something I just knew I could do.  I don't know why I thought that, I have no experience in this, I just knew it.  I suppose everyone has something they want to take on, that makes no real logical sense.  Kinda like when you see someone on TV do something interesting or extraordinary, and you mumble under your breath "I could do that".  It's just something you know in your heart.  Well, that happened with this house and me.  I didn't go looking for this house, it came to me.  One day we were living in our two bedroom townhouse and the next we were in this crazy monster of a house.  It just happened that fast.  Then I just started and the rest is documented here on this web site.  I still have some big projects to take on, and I fully intend on completing them all.  I want to finish this house in it's entirety.  I guess what I'm trying to say is the projects are gonna keep coming, and the web site will continue growing at least for the next year or so.  Or maybe forever should we have some sort of windfall of cash, but so far the "open letter to rich people" hasn't yielded any cash.  : )

So, we are not showing the house yet, unless someone offers us my "Buy it now Price"  (at which time we're out of here) But, I don't see happening.  I just wanted to share our intentions with all of you first.  If you know someone who wants this wonderful old house, and is willing to take on it's preservation, I'm all ears.  I do kindly ask that unless someone is truly interested (not just curious) that people refrain from asking for a price or a walk-thru.  I will leave that to the Real Estate office when we actually list the home for sale.
